Doll Show 25 yesterday was actually kinda awesome, in more ways than one. XD First, the way it was organised... is very interesting and quite unlike any event I've attended before. Secondly, Kaba was there! And Hitomiya (which has probably traumatised J quite a bit, lulz) and several others. But Kaba was the one who took most of my money. We also hit the Vampire Cafe in the evening, which was actually quite lulz to be honest... good food (albeit rather expensive), but seeing a srsface vampire serve your food and clean up after you is all kinds of awesome. XD

So, it's supposed to be spring but today's exceptionally(?) cold and wet thanks to the never-ending rain. Can has inappropriate clothes for the season, srsly. >__> We felt so cheated! It's like winter all over again. XD

Upon arriving in Tokyo, we made for the Koitsukihime exhibition at parabolica-bis. I was initially shocked by the size of these dolls, which were rather like 1:2 scale, because I'd never seen them in real life before. There was a set of sleeping/awake twins, a set of conjoined twins, a doll with two heads and a set of two girls who were actually life-sized. The dolls had a really doll-like (what with their large ball joints) ethereal quality to them, and the setup and displays emanated a sense of darkness and mystery. Really interesting. Too bad we weren't allowed to take pictures inside...

Apart from dropping by the usual places (Sumika, Closet Child, Laforet and OIOI, right XD), we also visited Soom! Where they had most of the monthly dolls on display. Really interesting seeing them irl, actually, since they seem somewhat different from how they look on the website.

But mostly a loooong and tiring day today, what with having to live through umbrella orgies in this wet weather. Also, we didn't buy anything today... mostly because. Doll Show tomorrow!

Tokyo was a blast and too much fun!

In a nutshell. We hit the usual places - Shinjuku, Harajuku, Ikebukuro and Akiba. And also, Kichijoji, Tsukiji and Meguro. Spent too much money (what's new XD). Ate a lot of dessert (Pierre Herme!). Did not buy any loli! (!) Instead, I caved and bought hobo clothes, such as h.NAOTO. And as a repeat of 2005, somewhat, I actually lugged a couch back. Sunday was Dolpa and so fricking cold we literally had to huddle together. (Cruel Volks is cruel!) Miruku is extremely adorable. We both headed for the dealers line. Spent too much for srs! And the Dolpa bento... was really, really terrible, omg lol. Yesterday was a huge rush for last minute shopping, so much that we almost very nearly missed our flight back. XD

Ahhh, I want to go back.

I'm leaving for Japan with lightlybattered in less than 4 hours' time. I can has last minute packing - in fact, am not sure if I'm really done. It's a short trip; we're only hitting Tokyo. Yes, it's the high priestess' pilgrimage to Dolpa yet again. Exciting tiemz! I hope I get to use the Internets at some point.

...so it would seem I was standing behind Ashley, Midori and Yin at aymorly's live in Akasaka Bliss. XD And sadly, Midori's mini-hat blocked Kai from my view. ;_;
